Employer Matching

Employer Matching Gifts

Many companies in our area match their employees' contributions to non-profit organizations like KCBX Public Radio.

As much as we would like to take care of this for you, most matching gift programs require the employee to initiate the process. Typically this involves filling out a company form and sending it to KCBX at the same time or soon after the gift is made.

We will verify the receipt of the gift and send the completed form to the company. KCBX receives the matching gift within a few weeks or at the end of an accounting period, depending on the company's procedures.

The employer's gift is usually a dollar-for-dollar match of your gift, but the ratio can vary from .5:1 to 3:1, again depending on the employer.

Some companies even match the gifts of retired employees.

If you would like to increase the effect of your gift to KCBX, get in touch with your employee's human resources department to find out if they have a matching gift program and, if so, how to initiate the request.

Or, in many cases we can tell you whether your gift would qualify and help point you in the right direction. You can call Development Director Chris McBride at 805-549-8855 or email chris@kcbx.org.
