Cayucos: Tomorrow begins the summer season of Farmers Markets in Cayucos on Fridays. From 10am to 12:30pm the market allows you to find fresh fruits, vegetables and plants at the Vets Hall on the pier. The only date missed this summer for Farmer’s Market will be Friday, the 4th of July.
Los Osos: This Saturday night in Los Osos the Red Barn Community Music Series
is proud to present the music of blues guitarist Del Rey at 7 pm. Her guitar and ukulele playing combine country blues, stride piano, classic jazz and hillbilly boogie through the sensibility of an autodidact trailer-park esthete. Her live show is full of complex guitar grooves and sly humor. Del Rey plays internationally, collaborates and tours frequently with Austin guitarist Steve James, plays with the group Ukeshack on ukulele and presents a concert/lecture on women musicians called Women in American Music. Since 2004 Del Rey has collaborated with Maria Muldaur on “Tributes to Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Johnny Cash,” and she writes about music for various publications, including Acoustic Guitar. Dirty Linen magazine recommends: “If you like your blues warm, wise, witty and well-played, give Del Rey a listen.” The Red Barn is located at the South Bay Community Center, next to the skate park in Los Osos on Los Osos Valley Road at the corner of Palisades. The
show begins at 7:00 PM, with pot luck supper and pot luck band beginning at
6 PM. No tickets are required -a donation of $10 is requested at the door.

Voce is the only American choir invited to perform at the Festival Choral International en Provence. Sponsored by the French Government, this festival invites only eight choirs each summer. They require that each choir come from a different country—Cuesta Voce has the honor of representing the USA.
The other invited choirs this year are from Lativa, South Africa, Spain, Hungary, the Czech Republic, the Philippines, and Russia. The Cuesta Night Band, directed by Ron McCarley, plays an exciting mix of classic jazz to progressive big band music Tickets for the concert are $10 for adults, $7 for students, seniors and children under 12. SLO: You’ve heard them on NPR, and now you can experience the political satirists and singers “the Capitol Steps” in San Luis Obispo on Thursday, May 15th at the Performing Arts Center on the Cal Poly campus. P.J. O’Rourke says, “The Capitol Steps are what Washington would be like if everyone were smarter and could sing.” Cal Poly Arts presents the bi-partisan levity of The Capitol Steps with their take on red, blue, left or right--it’s all fair game when the Steps’ hit the current headlines. Most cast members have worked on Capitol Hill – some for Democrats, some for Republicans, and others for politicians who firmly straddle the fence. No matter who holds office, there's never a shortage of material. Twenty five years ago, The Capitol Steps began as a group of Senate staffers who set out to satirize the very people and places that employed them. In the years that followed, many of the Steps ignored the conventional wisdom ("Don't quit your day job!") Taken together, these performers have worked in a total of 18 Congressional offices and represent 62 years of collective House and Senate staff experience. They’ve also recorded 28 albums, including their latest, Campaign and Suffering. KCBX Public Radio is a proud co-sponsor for the performance of the Capitol Steps one week from today, Thursday May 15th. For tickets 805/756-2787; to order by fax: 805/756-6088. Order on-line at www.calpolyarts.org.
