SLO: It’s time again for the Family Care Network’s 5th annual Miracle Miles for Kids, a 10k walk/run benefiting foster and high-needs children, youth and families served by the Family Care Network. This year’s walk/run is on Saturday, May 10th, with the 6.2 mile course running along the water’s edge from Morro Rock to the Cayucos Pier. Miracle Miles for Kids has something for everyone—from serious athletes trying to beat their personal bests to parents looking for something fun the whole family can enjoy.
There are three different ways you can participate—either as an individual runner, with a team (friends or co-workers) or as part of a centipede (a team which consists of 5 or more participants who stay physically connected for the duration of the race). A new addition to this year’s event is ChampionCHIP Timing! ChampionCHIP timing provides every participant with an accurate, electronically-calculated finish time. The race begins at 8:30am at Morro Rock, with walk-up registration beginning at 6:00am. Registration fees are $45. The post-race party starts at 9:00am near the Cayucos pier and will include live music by Still Time, lunch, a diverse vendor fair with children’s activities and a lively award ceremony.
