Journeys of Discovery: Exploring Shaanxi province & driving to Tibet

Join correspondent Tom Wilmer in China for an exploration of the northwest province of Shaanxi, and the numerous benefits of traveling to Tibet by automobile versus aircraft or train.

Jimmy Deng, with the Shanghai-based Spring Tours, offers strategic travel insights, while Xi’an-based tour guide Paul Su talks about the exotic ibis, a bird indigenous to China. Additionally, a Xi’an-based grad student, Ana Mitrovic, studying archaeology talks about the lesser-known reaches of the Great Wall of China, built of rammed earth rather than stone.
