Personal belongings of those living in the Salinas riverbed near the City of Paso Robles are being catalogued for owners to claim.

The City recently evacuated several camps of people and removed their personal property from the rising river bed. Steve Martin is the Paso Robles' mayor and said the City collaborated with several organizations to work with those living in the river in a compassionate way.

"This entire episode has brought to the public attention the fact that we will be having ongoing discussions in the future about how to address and assist homeless situations at other times rather than just during emergency situations," said Mayor Martin.

Paso Robles is assisting some partnering organizations with temporary lodging for the evacuees on a need basis.
