Templeton High students to return to regular schedule after bomb threat evacuates campus

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office

High school students in Templeton will return to class Tuesday after authorities officially cleared campus and surrounding areas of any bomb threat.

The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office responded to campus and helped evacuate students and faculty, after an individual called an anonymous bomb threat into the school's office Monday.

Tony Cipolla is the Public Information Officer for the San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Office and said authorities used a bomb-sniffing dog to sweep the school and surrounding grounds for any suspicious items.

"We have investigators working this case, trying to determine who it was that called the school," he said. They are still there are the scene and they will be for quite some time."

The District said in a email all evidence indicates the threat was a hoax.

The Superintendent's office asks parents to send students back to school because maintaining normal behavioral patterns is important during stressful times.
