Emma Levine grew up in Southern California and attended Cal Poly as a music major, where she studied piano with W. Terrence Spiller. Inspired by her amazing professors and their passion for teaching, Emma pursued her graduate degree in musicology at UCSB before moving back to San Luis Obispo in 2017. She now teaches courses in music appreciation and American music at Cal Poly, coordinates the Paderewski Festival Youth Piano Competition in Paso Robles, and spends her summers in Santa Barbara working at Music Academy of the West.
While Emma loves attending all types of concerts, from jazz to EDM, she’s particularly excited to be sharing with listeners all about the classical music scene on the Central Coast. Emma co-hosts KCBX In Concert with Jack Fischer and Craig Russell—her former music history professor! She is incredibly grateful and excited to be a part of the KCBX family.
