Cal Poly students selected for 'Real California Milk' Rose Parade float

Tournament of Roses Parade

Cal Poly will be represented twice in the Tournament of Roses Parade at the start of the new year.

Since 1949, Cal Poly has partnered with its sister school in Pomona, each building half of the only student-built float.

This year, The California Milk Advisory Board selected some young dairy advocates to ride on its first-ever entry to the rose parade, and most of them are Cal Poly students.

Dairy Science student Katie Migliazzo was selected to ride on the 'Real California Milk' float. She said the float features a lot of foods the state's dairy farmers help produce.

"CMAB is all about representing the 1,400 California dairy families who produce California milk. CMAB represents these dairymen and promotes their products because today's consumer is looking for a local, fresh product," said Migliazzo.

The Cal Poly Universities' float will appear 76th in the parade, followed closely by the 'Real California Milk' float, the 80th act, in Pasadena on Friday.
