Central Coast Voices: How Peace Circles Can Create Change

Broadcast date: 10/18/18

Eleanor Roosevelt said, "It isn't enough to talk about peace. One must believe in it. And it isn't enough to believe in it. One must work at it." Lately there has been a new-found interest in peacemaking and conflict resolution, whether between individuals, groups, communities, or nations.

This week is an invitation to learn about one more way we can work towards peace---Peace Circles, an intentionally designed yet flexible methodology for communication and creating change. Circles are used in a variety of settings such as workplaces, justice systems, government, schools, families and communities. They can serve many purposes, including: learning, decision-making, governance, conflict resolution, healing, as well as community and team building.

Join host Fred Munroe as he speaks with Dr. Evelyn Zellerer, international facilitator, trainer, and Founder and Director of Peace of the Circle, along with Doreen Liberto, Board Member with Ecologistics as they discuss the Foundation and Invitation of Circles and how the Circle process draws upon ancient and contemporary wisdom in a way that opens up different and greater possibilities to create change.

Central Coast Voices is sponsored by ACTION for Healthy Communities in collaboration with KCBX and made possible through underwriting by Joan Gellert-Sargen.

Fred Munroe is a co-host of the KCBX talk show Central Coast Voices, heard every Thursday afternoon from 1:00-2:00. Fred has successfully divided his time as a local entrepreneur, political leader, and communicator. He owns and manages two local firms addressing personal travel planning and public transportation; Travel With Fred and Ridership Development Consultants.
