Compton keeps her SLO County District 4 seat by a narrow margin

District 4 Supervisor incumbent Lynn Compton leads the race by under 100 votes over challenger Jimmy Paulding

UPDATE Friday, JUNE 22 6 P.M.:  San Luis Obispo County certified its election results Friday. Lynn Compton successfully defended her district 4 seat on the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors against challenger Jimmy Paulding by just 60 votes.

Compton's victory will maintain the conservative majority on the board.

Incumbent Lynn Compton continues her lead over challenger Jimmy Paulding by a narrow margin of 55 votes in the race for San Luis Obispo County District 4 supervisor. New counts were released Wednesday afternoon. Compton holds 50.15 percent of the votes to Paulding's 49.85 percent. However, Compton has not declared a victory and Paulding has not conceded.

9,183 votes were cast for Compton, while Paulding garnered 9128 votes. 53.61 percent of eligible District 4 voters either sent in a ballot or cast their vote at a polling place, according to officla election results released on Wednesday afternoon.

46 vote-by-mail ballots still remain, but even if all of them went to Paulding it won't be enough to edge a lead over Compton.
