Four participants in this year's AIDS Lifecycle Ride were being treated for injuries Monday evening, following a crash along Highway 1 near Moss Landing in Monterey County.

The California Highway Patrol says the incident happened Monday morning when a truck pulled in front of the riders. While none of the cyclists have life-threatening injuries, two may require surgery.

It had yet to be determined by the ride's medical crew whether the remaining two can rejoin the event, according to the ride's spokesperson, Ryan McKeel.

Nearly 3000 cyclists and volunteers arrived in King City Monday evening to set up camp for the night. They'll continue south to Paso Robles on Tuesday.

The ride wraps up in West Los Angeles this weekend.
