The Crown Princess is currently anchored off the coast of Santa Barbara with a reported 66 passengers and 17 crew members isolated in their cabins with Norovirus symptoms. They are expected to stay in their cabins until they are no longer contagious.

"We have implemented enhanced sanitation procedures onboard Crown Princess to interrupt the person-to-person spread of this illness," said Karen Candy, Manager of Media Relations for Princess Cruises. Norovirus symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

The ship is in the midst of a 7 day, round-trip California coastal cruise that departed Los Angeles on April 5. It was most recently in San Francisco and is headed to San Diego after Wednesday's stop in Santa Barbara.

Last year, there were a 7 Norovirus cruise ship outbreaks infecting more than 1200 passengers, according to the Centers for Disease Control.
