Future SLO homeless center gets anonymous $250,000 donation

Homeless Foundation members hold up the $250,000 check from an anonymous donor.

An anonymous donor is offering up a $250,000 toward San Luis Obispo County's planned Homeless Services Center

It a matching grant, which means an additional $250,000 needs to come from other community contributions.

John Spatafore, Homeless Foundation of San Luis Obispo County Chairperson said he's ecstatic about this gift toward the $5.4 million project.

Ground breaking is scheduled three months out so the Foundation is hoping to raise the matching money within that time frame.

"So, we're at a point where we're close, the light is at the end of the tunnel, and I think we're going to be very, very successful," said Spatafore. "This project has been very positive from the beginning, it's had almost unanimous support."

Spatafore said the donor is a local resident who supports the Homeless Services Center's focus on helping people achieve permanent housing.
