Happy New Year, or Not?

Broadcast date: 1/1/2015

With Congressional approval ratings remaining at a historic low of 14%, and President Obama’s approval through the month of December in the low forties, confidence in government remains low even with new leadership coming into power.  On New Year’s Day, because you agree the future of the “free world” means more than the outcome of a few “bowl games,” we will look at Congress, the Midterms and the next 2 years, and the challenges that the President and the new Congress will face. Leaders in both parties have incentive to cooperate, but it remains to be seen whether or not they will compromise in the interests of the country as a whole.

Join host Fred Munroe as he speaks with Associate Professors of Political Science and Public Policy at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Chris Den Hartog and Michael Latner as they discuss the consequences of the Midterm elections, a New Congress and President Obama’s Last Two Years and its importance to the Central Coast.

Central Coast Voices is sponsored by ACTION for Healthy Communities in collaboration with KCBX.

Fred Munroe is a co-host of the KCBX talk show Central Coast Voices, heard every Thursday afternoon from 1:00-2:00. Fred has successfully divided his time as a local entrepreneur, political leader, and communicator. He owns and manages two local firms addressing personal travel planning and public transportation; Travel With Fred and Ridership Development Consultants.
