The public's perception of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) members of our community is evolving, with issues such as the legalization of marriage rights for same-sex couples gaining ground.
Despite resent gains and legal victories, some members of the LGBT community may feel there is still a long way to go before they're fully accepted as equals in our broader society. That's where the Gay and Lesbian Alliance (GALA) of the Central Coast steps in. The organization has provided education, support, recreation, advocacy and partnerships within the San Luis Obispo County area for decades.
Host Fred Munroe discusses the current issues facing the local LGBT community with Clay Marsh, 2014 GALA president and board member Daniel Taylor. You are invited to listen and join the conversation today between 1-2 pm.
