The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department says a panga boat, likely used to haul drugs and people, was found abandoned near San Simeon today.
A State Parks Ranger noticed a break in the fence line about four miles north of the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse, and not far away found the panga boat beached.
Investigators believe it had been there for nearly a day.
No narcotics were discovered, according to the sheriff's department, but investigators believe drugs were on board at some point.
The boat has three outboard motors and is about 34 feet long.
It's being towed to Morro Bay for further investigation.
