The president of Cal Poly will get a two percent raise following a vote Tuesday by the CSU Board of Trustees. The salary increase for University executives comes as faculty members negotiate for their own pay hike.
The increases are covered by a supplemental budget totaling $65 million. Laurie Weidner is with the CSU Office of the Chancellor and said all other labor bargaining units agreed to the two percent raise this past fall, except for one.
"CFA, the California Faculty Association, was the only group that chose not to settle on salary for this academic year, so salary is being renegotiated at this time," said Weidner.
This spring, several Cal Poly faculty members and students protested the schools' growing administrative costs. The Cal Poly chapter of the CFA and their colleagues throughout the state will be in negotiations to determine compensation for the coming academic year.
All salaries for the CSU employee groups are retroactive to July 1.
