The city of Santa Barbara has been added to the list of Central Coast communities facing a power shutoff this weekend. The Santa Barbara police department announced Friday afternoon that the shutoff may take place starting on Sunday afternoon, through Monday.
UPDATE 10/20/19 3 P.M. Southern California Edision announced Sunday the the potential the public safety power shut off will not occur for the city of Goleta.
Both Southern California Edison and PG&E may shut off power due to high winds and dry conditions. The blackout may also hit Montecito, Goleta and the mountainous side of Highway 101, according to the city of Goleta. More information can be found on SoCalEdison’s public safety power shutoff webpage.
