UPDATE: Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 5:14 p.m.

The suspect connected to last weekend's double murder in Clovis is under arrest.

Clovis Police Chief Matt Basgall said during a press conference that 49-year-old Dave McCann was picked up Wednesday morning at a Seaside-area transient camp in Monterey County.

"Through the tip of a homeless person, [they] were able to lead us directly to where Mr. McCann was sleeping, which happened to be well off the beaten path, up a bicycle train and behind a fence," said Basgall.

McCann is suspected of killing his mother-in-law, Judith Cooper, 68 of Paso Robles and his estranged wife, Tierney Cooper-McCann, 37, of Fresno.

Investigators had focused on the Central Coast, after a Penske rental truck connected to McCann was located in Paso Robles. There were also sightings in Cambria on Monday and near Ragged Point on Tuesday.
