UPDATE: Thurs., May 22, 2014 - 6:12 p.m.

The Atascadero Police Department confirmed on Thursday afternoon that 13-year-old Jeremiah Austin Valdez was located and would be reunited with his family. No other details were given at that time.

Original story:

The Atascadero Police Department is looking for a missing 13-year-old boy who was last seen by his guardians on Monday.

Jeremiah Austin Valdez is considered "at risk" because of his age, and because he takes medication for depression, according to police.

"Follow up investigation has not led to the location of Valdez but it is believed he is possibly en route to the Hanford California area where his mother lives," an Atascadero Police Department media release says. "Valdez has been unhappy with his current living environment."

The boy is described as Hispanic, 5'5" and 105 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with racing numbers and jeans.

The Atascadero Police Department is requesting anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jeremiah Valdez please contact the department at (805)461-5051.

Any questions should be directed to Sergeant Jason Carr at (805) 470-3228.
