Voter's Edge provides "one-stop-shopping" for election info

San Luis Obispo County voters have a new one-stop-shopping tool for the upcoming election. It’s called Voter’s Edge, and it’s a new venture from the League of Women Voters. It’s a resource for voters to find out about all the candidates and measures on the ballots.

Candidates are invited to submit information themselves.

“It has to be about the candidate, not negative about their opponent. So it's very positive…”this is why I'm running, these are what my priorities are,” and information on the ballot measures,” said Julie Rodewald. “And then it also incorporates information about the money that's being used to support or oppose statewide ballot measures, and also the funding for statewide candidates.”

Rodewald is the former clerk-recorder for San Luis Obispo County, and sits on the board of the local League of Women Voters chapter. She said voters can type in their address and get information on everything they will see on their individual ballot.

“The League of Women Voters, for many years, had something called Smart Voter, which did the same thing,” Rodewald said. “And so this is kind of a new and improved Smart Voter. We thought it was a great resource for local voters to have a place that they could go to find out more information about the candidates, from the candidates themselves.”

Voter’s Edge is at votersedge.org.
