Efforts to keep homeless populations safe from harsh conditions continue this week as freeze warnings are to remain in effect through Tuesday on the Central Coast.
Emergency shelters will be open in Santa Barbara County to bring people in from the cold.
Ed Wesson is the Director of Operations for South County Freedom Warming Centers and said through the help of the community, they are able to house "friends without homes."
"They have a home during these times. They know the warming centers are open: when it's raining two days or more, or when it's 35 degrees or below," said Wesson.
