Five Cities Fire - Peter Klein

A vehicle hit a fire hydrant at a shopping center in Pismo Beach on Monday night, resulting in thousands of gallons of water running down the street for nearly a half hour.

The water flow was estimated at 1500 gallons per minute with a geyser shooting some 40 feet into the air.

Five Cities Fire says the crash happened around 9:00 p.m. near Orchard Supply Hardware.

KCBX has a request in with Pismo Beach Fire/Cal Fire for information on the driver.
