Paying it forward--St. Anthony’s Foundation and Hilton Hotel San Francisco Union Square

St. Anthony's Foundation

Barry Stenger, Executive Director of St. Anthony’sFoundation, founded by the Franciscan Order in San Francisco 66 years ago to assist the needs of the homeless and low income citizens.

Stenger talks about the quarter century partnership with Hilton San Francisco Union Square to help the homeless and underserved.

Jo Locata, has worked fulltime at the Hilton Hotel San Francisco Union Square for the past two decades as the hotel’s fulltime Community Projects Manager. 

Licata specializes in outreach to other San Francisco hotels and hospitality enterprises soliciting anything the non-profit community is in need of. Donations include kitchen supplies, furniture, overstocked fresh food, linens and so much more.

St. Anthony’s needs are perpetual as their dining room serves more than 2,700 meals daily. This is in addition to counseling services, operating a medical clinic, job training services, a tech lab, an addiction recovery program, and housing support for San Francisco’s homeless and low-income residents.

Since the founding of St. Anthony’s in 1950, the dining room has served 42 million meals to the needy and homeless of San Francisco.
