As of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, the county sheriff's office has lifted the mandatory evacuation orders put in place on Monday afternoon.

According to Santa Barbara County, "The National Weather Service has advised that critical rain rates did not materialize over the area as expected. Showers are expected through the afternoon and into the evening hours, however, they are not anticipated to reach critical levels to cause debris flow."

It's possible more evacuations could be called for this week, as the first of several storms pass over the Santa Barbara coast. But as of Tuesday, officials say none of these systems appear to be strong enough to trigger debris flows and mudslides in areas scarred and denuded by recent wildfires.

More information can be found at the county's website, www.ReadySBC.org, along with an interactive map showing areas at risk for debris flows and mudslides.
