On today's "Playing With Food" for "Issues & Ideas", the emerging craft spirits industry leads to an educational adventure along the Central Coast, and some exploration in the kitchen as with vodka and moonshine.

Fr Ian Delinger journeys from Buellton to Gonzales to gain an education in the craft spirits of the Central Coast. With around 20 distilleries along the Central Coast, there are surely spirit-filled creations for the everyday kitchen. By the end, you will not only have a better appreciation for the craft spirits, but for the spirited playing with food that went on in the kitchen.

A dish that didn't make the cut! Grape-based Vodka cream sauce with vegetables over rice steamed with the vodka. It was a good idea, but after 3 attempts, it still wasn't perfect. More playing required.
