Ears on Art: air date 04-03-2013

Crissa Hewitt and Steven Deluque bring us another edition of Ears on Art. It's part one of a program featuring photographer Joe Schwartz. Joe was a member of the Photo League of New York, a social activist organization that began in the 1930s. This program is from our archives and is presented as a memorial to this amazing artist who died in March, just three months shy of his 100th birthday. His black and white candid images captured the bitter realities of poverty and segregation while also documenting blacks, whites, and Jews working in harmony.
