Doors Open California at The Monday Club
Doors Open California at The Monday Club
A visit to The Monday Club is a unique opportunity to tour a 1934 vintage women's club designed by architect Julia Morgan. During the first quarter of the 20th century, Julia Morgan was the first woman granted an architectural license in California, the 19th Amendment granting women a constitutional right to vote was ratified by Congress, and The Monday Club was founded by a dynamic group of women in 1924.
The Doors Open California event is a two-day celebration of architecture and culture featuring more than 65 on-site tours and access to historic places across the state on Saturday and Sunday, September 9 and 10. Tours will take place from 11 am to 2 pm approximately every 30 minutes, with guest speakers from 3 to 4 pm each day.
