Mawtini: Arab American Narratives of Home and Belonging
Mawtini: Arab American Narratives of Home and Belonging
"Mawtini", which means "my homeland" in Arabic, is a community oral history project that records and shares the memories and experiences of Arab Americans living on the Central Coast. Join Mawtini project organizers and narrators for the launch of an interactive installation, listen to excerpts from the oral histories, enjoy food, theatre, and a roundtable discussion.
Mawtini is funded by the City of SLO DEI high impact grant and administered by the Peace Academy of Sciences and Arts and Our Roots Our Routes: Living Histories of Belonging and Cultural Sustainability on California's Central Coast.
