The sonnet is one of the most enduring poetic forms. Like a friendly ghost, the sonnet is approachable for emerging and seasoned writers alike. In this workshop, we'll read historical and contemporary examples of sonnets, tracing the ways in which the form has changed shape over the course of its centuries-long life, while retaining ghostly traces of its origins. We will read, talk, generate some ideas rooted in the form, and maybe even write a sonnet or two. Join us for this free, community workshop. All skill levels are appropriate. Just bring a notebook and something to write with.
