Irish Accordion Champ John Whelan and Café Musique at Tiber Canyon Ranch
Come enjoy a fabulous Sunday afternoon, when Tiber Canyon Ranch will resound with the dynamic sounds of champion Irish accordion player John Whelan and Vermont based Americana band Low Lily in a collaboration they call “Crossing the Atlantic”!
Exploring the musical traditions of Ireland and America, this energetic concert will showcase the fine talents of these seasoned performers. Alongside fiery up-tempo Irish jigs and reels will be traditional American folk songs, original songs and instrumentals played on button accordion, fiddle, guitars, and mandolin, and featuring lush, layered vocals. This show brings the generations together for a fresh new take on roots music from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
Local favorites Café Musique will open.
This is a fundraiser for KCBX Central Coast Public Radio and the Live Oak Music Festival?.
Wine and ?beer will be available.
Attendees are encouraged to bring their own picnic for what should be a beautiful afternoon in Tiber Canyon's outdoor stage. Seating will be provided.
