Karen DeWitt is Capitol Bureau Chief for New York State Public Radio, a network of 10 public radio stations in New York State. WBFO listeners are accustomed to hearing DeWitt’s insightful coverage throughout the day, including expanded reports on Morning Edition.

Cassandra is currently working to get her Bachelors in Journalism and Public Relations at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She also has a minor in Agricultural Communications. Cassandra specializes in marketing, communications, and branding, and works in Development at KCBX.

Shayna Weldon is a KCBX intern and a senior Cal Poly San Luis Obispo civil engineering student. Shayna is passionate about connecting industry leaders that make our world so unique and presenting their insight to the public.

Emily Schiffenhaus was an intern at KCBX during the spring of 2024. She graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in June 2024 with a degree in Journalism. When she’s not at the station, she’s taking classes or serving coffee at her other job. In her free time, Emily likes to go to yoga, hike, surf, listen to music and take photos.

Sonja Hutson is a politics and government reporter at KUER. She’s been reporting on politics ever since the 10th grade, when she went to so many school board meetings the district set up a press table for her. Before coming to Utah, Sonja spent four years at KQED in San Francisco where she covered everything from wildfires to the tech industry. When she’s not working, you can find her skiing, camping, or deeply invested in a 1000 piece puzzle.
