Poverty Levels Stabilize; a First in 5 Years
For the first time in five years, the poverty rate in the United States did not increase, according to new numbers released by the Census Bureau. The national poverty level remained steady at 12.6 percent. That's about 37 million people living in poverty, the U.S. Census Bureau says.

SLO County nonprofit to sue over controversial redistricting map it says violates California election law
The San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors formally adopted a controversial district map on Tuesday that makes major changes to the district boundaries in the county. Now, a nonprofit called San Luis Obispo County Citizens for Good Government plans to sue over the map, which they say violates California election law and favors Republican interests.
