Today is California's voter registration deadline

KCBX News, Randol White

Next month, California voters will choose a new governor, weigh in on rent control, and make other big decisions about the state's future.

But before you can vote, you need to make sure you're registered, and Oct. 22 is the deadline to vote in the 2018 midterms election.

You can check if you're already registered, and where, on the Secretary of State's website. You'll just need your driver's license or state ID number and the last four digits of your social security.

If you're not signed up yet or if you've moved and need to re-register, it's easy to do online. Just head to registertovote.ca.gov.

You can also register in person. Contact your local elections officeto find out where.
