Café KITP presents “Stellar sleuthing: How scientists learn from lights in the sky.”
The universe is full of stars that do much more than just twinkle--life on Earth relies on the warmth of our nearest star. If all we see of them is their light, how do we learn about the lives and deaths of stars? Over dinner and drinks, KITP Postdoctoral Scholar Evan Anders will present some of the most surprising discoveries in the history of stellar astrophysics, and how those discoveries were made.
