Joel Diringer, JD. MPH, will be presenting "The Fabric of SLO County, Understanding the Diversity and Contributions of our Immigrant Community", a recent study directly related to resources and challenges of our local community members. Recommendations will also be presented to improve the quality of life for immigrants, while fostering a more inclusive and equitable community.

Highlights include a traditional tea ceremony at the Botanical Garden, a nourishing Japanese lunch at Oku, and a tea & haiku workshop in Montecito. 7,500 books on sale for children, teens and adults. Higher-value books and clearance items will also be available. Sale runs Thursday to Saturday, June 19 to 21, 9 am to 5 pm. UC Master Gardener Program of San Luis Obispo County extends an invitation to the public to visit our SLO demonstration garden. Bring your lunch, tour the garden, ask questions, or just sit and enjoy the sights & sounds of the Garden of the Seven Sisters. See what’s in bloom and learn something new. Master Gardeners will be available to answer questions. First Wednesday of each month from April to September.

The Friends of El Moro Elfin Forest (FEMEF) in Los Osos is the nonprofit responsible for maintaining the Elfin Forest, a nature preserve at the north end of Los Osos For 25 years, Yolanda Waddell, a founding FEMEF member, has been the lead editor of our quarterly newsletter, the "Oakleaves" (Fall issue: https://www.elfin-forest.org/library/oakleaves/archives/2024-09.pdf). Along with other long-time editors, she will be stepping down after the Winter issue.We are now searching for a new editorial team, including two text editors and a photo editor, but more help is always welcome.
