Community Calendar

We gather to walk the land with attention, drink living tea, and cultivate ecological awareness as a relational, embodied practice. This is a space to slow down, listen, and remember our place within the living systems that hold us, supported and guided by tea—an ancient plant ally that helps bridge human awareness and the living intelligence of the land. Each gathering includes gentle walking, simple tea ritual, and quiet reflection guided by the season, the elements, and the land itself.

Toss it? No Way! Volunteers repair bikes, clothing and textiles, outdoor gear and apparel, jewelry, watches, small appliances, furniture, laptops, tablets, game consoles, and phones for free. If you know what's needed, bring the replacement part (i.e. battery, zipper, lamp cord) to speed things up. Don't landfill it. Fix It! Neighbors are invited to bring their garden abundance to share.

Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley will officially open the doors to our new Navigation Center, a welcoming space designed to provide young adults with access to housing support, essential resources, life skills, and opportunities to build a brighter future.

Join us anytime between 9 am and 2 pm to tour the facility, meet our dedicated team, and learn more about the life-changing services that will be available for transitional-age youth in our community.

Join us for a morning of watercolor and instruction as we paint "The Whimsical Girl." She's a flowery stick figure with a wheelbarrow surrounded by flowers. We will supply everything for your 5-dollar donation.

Come enjoy a plant-based buffet of modern Latin and Southern Mexican food at La Pizca in Arroyo Grande. Many of the items will gluten-free, as well as 100 percent free of animal products. Chef Chencho is offering a feast that will include dairy-free cheese, so that he can feature vegan quesadillas and enchiladas in the buffet.
The $25 ticket includes dinner. Beer, wine, or other beverages are extra.

NPR’s popular show Hidden Brain is coming to San Luis Obispo for a live conversation with the show’s host, veteran science journalist Shankar Vedantam, presented in a collaboration between KCBX Public Radio and Cal Poly Arts. This event is part of Hidden Brain’s national “Perceptions” tour, and San Luis Obispo is the show’s only stop on the West Coast.
