Chicago Blues

Chicago Blues

Dance to the crème la crème of Chicago Blues, guitarist John Primer and Phoenix’s mover and shaker, blues harp master, Bob Corritore when they perform at the Oddfellows Hall.
Bob Corritore is a blues renaissance man. He is the long-time owner and promoter of the famed Rhythm Room hosting practically every blues legend. He has released albums in his name, and is a top-notch record producer, producing recordings by Jimmy Vaughn, Ike Turner, Bob Margolin, and many more.
John Primer was born in Camden, Mississippi and grew up in a shack with no running water. He was drawn to the blues from watching his Dad and cousin play guitar after working the fields. He moved to Chicago in 1963, quickly playing famed blues clubs such as the Checkerboard Lounge and Theresa’s. He has worked for Junior Wells, Muddy Waters, and Magic Slim & the Teardrops. Primer has released 17 albums in his name, and guested on hundreds more including artists like the Rolling Stones, Keb’ Mo’, Hubert Sumlin, Little Milton, and James Cotton.
Opening for Bob Corritore and John Primer are the local faves, the Quadratones, who play blues, roots-rock and soul.
The San Luis Blues Society is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c) organization, bringing blues to the Central Coast for over 30 years. To buy tickets for this show and our organization see www.SLOBlues.org.
