This concert celebrates a fantastic cross-section of the whole jazz department. The CD project is the grand finale for retired Cuesta Music faculty George Stone, who served as the Head engineer on the project, handling all of the recording processes.
Featuring the big band, small groups, faculty and Voce—these performers will give the audience a taste of the CD that will be available for purchase.

Former Berkeley resident and professional guitarist Joel Harrison returns to California for a fantastical journey into Miles Davis' iconic 1970 record, "In a Silent Way." This one-night only concert will feature a hand-picked quartet consisting of the Bay Area's finest and most creative musicians, whom will also perform some of Harrison's original music. Joel has recently released a live record from the Big Ears Festival of this same music. However, this unique band's approach will be to "make it new."

The SLO County Jazz Federation is pleased to welcome the Sam Hirsh Quartet for a return visit. Sam Hirsh has been a highly regarded pianist, composer and educator for decades, playing with some of the top names in jazz.

Ralph Moore is a legendary saxophonist who has played in the bands of Horace Silver, Dizzy Gillespie, Cedar Walton and Freddie Hubbard along with 25 years in Jay Leno's Tonight Show Band. The Quartet includes Jermaine Paul on bass and Kevin Kenner on drums.
