The San Luis Obispo Wind Orchestra presents "Hands Across the Sea," a concert featuring guest artist Chris Woodruff, principal trumpet and director of bands at Cal Poly. The program includes Sousa's "Hands Across the Sea," Bernstein's "Overture to Candide," Elgar's "Nimrod," Copland's "Quiet City," Vaughan Williams' "Toccata Marziale," and Grainger's "Handel in the Strand." Cuesta Choirs have been invited to perform with the UBC University Singers on their California tour. Hailing from The University of British Columbia, University Singers is the premier choral ensemble in the UBC School of Music. This 36-voice select ensemble performs the most advanced music written for chamber choir spanning the Renaissance to the modern-day. The University Singers also performs major works with the orchestra, including Brahms Requiem, Beethoven Symphony No. 9, Handel Messiah, and many others.For ONE NIGHT ONLY: select a $15 ticket if you're able to support our choirs program at this time, or select a complimentary ticket and support the singers with your attendance, clapping, and cheers.

Cellist Tyler J. Borden and pianist Mari Kawamura will present a concert of works by American composer Morton Feldman, a major figure in 20th-century classical music. The program will start with a brief selection of Feldman’s early works, then culminate with his massive 80-minute “Patterns in a Chromatic Field” which is known for long durations and unpredictable repetition. The concert is free and open to the public.
