AAUW SLO is presenting Mary Jefferson, the great, great-granddaughter of Thomas Eston Hemings Jefferson. He was the youngest of the 7 children of Sally Hemings and Thomas Jefferson. In 1998 a DNA study revealed that Mary's first cousin John Jefferson had the Y chromosome of the Thomas Jefferson Men. Her presentation will cover the relationship of Sally Hemings and Thomas Jefferson and her research into her family's heritage. She has been featured on the Oprah Show and was invited to the White House for a select group of Thomas Jefferson's descendants.
