SLO Youth Symphony Winter Concert

SLO Youth Symphony Winter Concert
The San Luis Obispo Youth Symphony invites music enthusiasts of all ages to experience an unforgettable evening of orchestral brilliance. A highlight of the evening will be a performance by the Youth Symphony’s Concerto Competition Winner, Emerald Shanks, performing the Haydn Piano Concerto in D Major with the Concert Orchestra. Shanks, a high school student in San Luis Obispo, is an accomplished violinist and pianist.
Featuring the culmination of months of dedication and hard work by talented young musicians, the Winter Concert will showcase the achievements of the SLO Youth Symphony's four student ensembles:
—Concert Orchestra, under the baton of Christopher J. Woodruff
—Academy Strings Orchestra, conducted by Tanya Streder
—Symphonic Winds, led by Al Streder
—Preparatory Strings, guided by Grace Seng
These ensembles are also aided by John Astaire, Percussion Coach, and Aracely Morataya, Youth Symphony Intern.
