Paso Robles turn 125 on Tuesday

Travel Paso Facebook page

A big Happy Birthday to Paso Robles which officially celebrates 125 years of being a city on Tuesday afternoon.

The anniversary festivities run from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the downtown City Park, but road closures begin at 2:00. Tuesday's activities are part of a year-long celebration for the city.

The event will begin with a school parade around the park to the front of the Carnegie Library. The very last parade entry will be a stagecoach that will be delivering a letter postmarked March 11, 2014 to be deposited—along with a few other commemorative items—into a time capsule that will be set as part of the celebration.

There will also be railroad memorabilia on display for attendees to enjoy and learn about the early history of the area.
