Cal Poly released a report Tuesday detailing the incidents that lead to a roof-collapse earlier this year.
The annual event referred to as St. Fratty's Day garnered international attention when a video went viral showing a roof collapsing under several people.
Jean DeCosta is the Dean of Students at Cal Poly and said the event could have been tragic. The serious nature of the incident prompted the investigation.
She said they want to impact students in the future and discourage them from attending unruly social gatherings.
"It can be something where students feel like, 'Well, what are we going to do there? How will we be able to take good care of ourselves if we go? Are we invited to go?' Those are the kinds of things that we need to start educating our students about, being careful about the choices that they make," said DeCosta.
DeCosta says the day's origin, dating back several years, is Greek associated; but, this year's event was organized by a variety of students and fueled by social media.
