IRA Charitable Distribution

If you are 70½ or older, you can make a tax-free gift directly to KCBX from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA) now and for years to come. It’s a smart way to enjoy tax savings and support KCBX!

Donor Advised Fund

You can support KCBX through a donor advised fund (DAF) set up through a public charity such as Fidelity Charitable, Schwab Charitable, or a community foundation like The Community Foundation of San Luis Obispo County.

You can name KCBX as a beneficiary of your DAF, and designate KCBX to receive all or a portion of your fund through your fund administrator. The balance of your fund passes to KCBX when the fund terminates.

Gifts of Stock

Many of our donors choose to make stock gifts to KCBX each year. Giving stock held more than 12 months offers a two-fold tax savings:

Avoid paying capital-gains tax on the increase in value of your stock, and
Receive a tax deduction for the full fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift

Subtracting the tax savings from what you originally paid for the stock can result in a gift that costs just pennies on the dollar. This is an excellent giving option for stock that has appreciated substantially in value.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many companies in our area match their employees' contributions to non-profit organizations like KCBX. Matching gift programs are a way to double (or increase) your support of KCBX.

You or your spouse may work for one of thousands of companies that encourage and support employee philanthropy through matching gift programs. How does this work? It’s simple: you make a gift to KCBX, complete and submit a matching gift application, and your employer will send us matching funds that will go to your favorite programs.

Some companies even match the gifts of retired employees.
