The California Highway Patrol said Monday afternoon that an investigation was underway into a Sunday evening car crash that involved singer-songwriter David Crosby of Crosby, Stills, and Nash fame.

The CHP said 46-year-old Jose Jimenez was jogging on Baseline Avenue in Santa Ynez when he was hit just before 6:00 p.m. S

Sergeant Don Clotworthy with the CHP's Buellton office said Crosby, a Santa Ynez resident, was driving a 2015 Tesla sedan at the speed limit (55 mph) and was not driving under the influence of drugs nor alcohol.

The position of the sun may have played a role, according to the official report.

Jimenez was taken by helicopter to Santa Barbara's Cottage Hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. The report said those consisted of multiple fractures, abrasions, and lacerations.
