Kat Orozco
Former Co-host of Citizen SoundKat Orozco co-hosted Citizen Sound with Steve Jenkins from December 2024 through May 2026.
She was a journalism student at Cal Poly with a strong passion for broadcast news and radio. Eager to gain experience in college radio, Kat joined Cal Poly's student station, KCPR, as a disc jockey and served as the station’s Content Director.
Kat has an insatiable drive to discover new and emerging alternative music, and views radio as the perfect platform to spotlight rising talent while honoring the trailblazers who defined the genre. She became a member of the KCBX team to connect with the Central Coast and beyond. Kat believes that radio listeners are the heartbeat of the music world, and the connection between on-air hosts and their audience is both sacred and deeply personal.
