  • Steve Jenkins is the co-host of Citizen Sound with Kat Orozco every other Sunday night/Monday morning from 11pm-1am. Steve became addicted to music and radio at a young age, the early years of his lifelong insomnia being narrated by late night personalities. Both Dr. Demento and Art Bell amplified Steve’s draw toward the fringes of the musical spectrum (and probably society, as a whole). By his early 20s, Steve’s passion for art and collaboration with fellow weirdos pushed him toward a deep immersion in DIY Punk culture, regularly finding himself entangled in creative micro-communities spanning the West Coast. His dedication to the arts led him to a career as a creative professional, primarily working as an audio engineer in a cross section of the Film, TV, and Gaming Industries.

Suspecting that the answer just might lie in the blues, Deb began hosting The Evening Blues, which you can hear on KCBX every other Saturday night from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.

  • Janelle started doing radio as a teenager, hosting a program on her high school station. WXRT-FM, still an innovative force in Chicago radio, was a big influence on both her radio style and her listening choices. She majored in Broadcast Communications at Columbia College in Chicago, interning at a couple of radio stations along the way. She began her career as a radio traffic reporter in her early 20's, moving with news and traffic suppliers Shadow Traffic from Chicago to Los Angeles to San Francisco. After a move to the Central Coast in the 90's, she was a show host for KXTZ-FM, and the morning DJ for its sister station K-OTTER.

She has been a fan of KCBX since 1989 when she first moved to San Luis Obispo to teach architecture at Cal Poly. • Every once in awhile, Monica Fiscalini is in the right place at the right time. She witnessed Elvis Presley’s funeral procession in Memphis. She sat in the audience the night the Everly Brothers broke up at Knott’s Berry Farm. She ate barbecue with Jimmie Dale Gilmore in Driftwood, Texas. And if you're in the right place at the right time, every once in a while you can hear her subbing on KCBX.
