Business leaders in Santa Barbara County are coming together Friday in an effort to ensure high speed internet access is available county-wide.
The Santa Barbara Broadband Task Force will meet in Buellton with a goal of expanding the service, says Ken Oplinger with regional Chamber of Commerce.
"There are still pockets of our community where it's difficult to gain that access, there are demographics in the community where they just don't have the resources to be able to do that at the cost points that are out there, so our goal is to try and expand that ability to access broadband as much as we possibly can," said Oplinger.
Oplinger says making sure broadband is widely available does not just to help the business community, but helps the community as a whole.
