Cal Poly Jazz Concert: 'Sounds of Harmony'
The concert will feature performances by the University Jazz Band, Vocal Jazz Ensemble and four Jazz Combos. Guest vocalist Inga Swearingen will join the Vocal Jazz Ensemble for its set which will include “Centerpiece” by Harry Edison, “Company” by Rosana Eckert, and Jennifer Barnes’ arrangement of Steve Allee’s “Art’s Groove.”
The Jazz Combos will perform a mix of standards and original student arrangements, and the University Jazz Band will play selections by Les Hooper, Jeff Jarvis, Mike Tomaro, Wayne Wallace, and others.
