The SLO Wind Orchestra will feature timpani soloist John Astaire performing Michael Daugherty’s Raise the Roof on May 8. Astaire, a professor of percussion at Cal Poly, brings the timpani to the front of the stage for this slam-bang tour de force. Live music is always better, and live wind music is finally back!
